When I opened Poway Cleaning Club in April of 2019, I had no idea the challenges that awaited me on the horizon. Less than a year after opening, Covid-19 and the global shut down hit us all. During this time, I found a passion that was waiting for a the right moment to reveal itself, and that passion was for helping others.
Shortly after the pandemic began, I found Alpha Project of San Diego and was interested in how I could be a part of the generous work they have done in San Diego since the 1980’s. I started by holding community clothing drives on Sundays in the back parking lot of my business.
Soon, I decided to open my lobby for people to bring donations at their convenience. Since inception you all have donated over 5,000 pounds of clothing, shoes, personal hygiene products, and much more. I take the donations downtown to the Alpha Project donation center once a month, and I will continue to do this as a service to the community of Poway and the city of San Diego.
